Moving back to WordPress

Okay, so after almost 4 years of blogging with Tumblr, I finally got over my [irrational] fear of WordPress and moved back!

Why did I leave in the first place? Well, I am actually not sure why I left WordPress before, but I think I was overwhelmed with the platform at the time. A lot of my blog buddies know that I’ve been blogging for a long time now but during the time that I switched to WordPress, I was more accustomed to smaller and simpler platforms. Looking at so many features and seeing how difficult it was for me to theme was probably the reason why I ditched it.

I first thought of moving back when I rediscovered WordPress months ago, when I started writing a pet blog. It was so easy for me to publish and manage my content. I am still not good at designing themes and I think it would take me a long time to learn how to code on WordPress, but I became very satisfied with my blogging experience on my pet blog that I also wanted my personal blog to be just as powerful. I also bought a personal domain AT LAST! Let’s hope this would be a good investment 😉

  1. I didn’t even notice that it was Tumblr, to be honest XD, I didn’t really pay too much attention to it, but alas, I’m glad you are giving WordPress a chance! ^^

  2. Yay!! Welcome back to WordPress! We are now a family (haha lol) WordPress is actually the best CMS of all CMS lol so I am trying my best to stick with WordPress even though it updates too often loool.

I didnt know that you have a pet blog, i will give it a visit!! Wish that I can blog about my pet too but man, I dont have any pet right now. My dog died 4 years ago and it hurts too much 🙁 lol I dont know when I can have a new dog. Maybe when I got a work hihi. Anyways I feel so touched seeing my name on your “blogs i love to read” list <3

  3. Welcome back to WordPress! I’ve tried several other platforms but always come back to WordPress. I think it’s the best one to code themes for too, actually, if you just have a good base theme. I eventually created my own from scratch (using some base code I found online) that I now use to develop new themes.
Tumblr is quite nice but I prefer self-hosted because I have more control over what happens with my stuff.
    I totally dig this theme!!!
